TherapyDen is a US therapist directory with some of the most specific filters anywhere: non-binary therapists, queer and trans competent, ADA-accessible offices, sliding scale, Health at Every Size, poly and open relationships, therapist ethnicity. if you're searching for a therapist who fits who you are, it's worth a look. two facts matter before you rely on it: its search only shows therapists who pay for a premium listing, and it doesn't vouch for anyone listed. here's what TherapyDen does and doesn't do, and where veisund fits.

this is the fact most people don't know. TherapyDen lets any therapist create a free profile, but only premium subscribers appear in TherapyDen's own search results; free profiles are reachable by direct link or through Google. so a TherapyDen search is a search of therapists who chose to pay $30 a month, not of every therapist on the site. that doesn't make the results worse — it makes them narrower than they look. if the filters turn up nobody near you, it doesn't mean nobody near you fits.
if you want licensed therapy and identity or values fit is part of what you need — a queer therapist, a therapist who works with polyamory, an office you can get into in a wheelchair, a sliding-scale rate — TherapyDen's filters do work no general directory does. a therapist can assess you, treat you, and work with you over months. veisund can't do any of that.
it doesn't book appointments, bill or verify insurance, or provide care. it doesn't say how, or whether, it checks the license numbers therapists enter, and its terms put the job of evaluating listings on you — so look up your therapist's license with your state board. and it's a directory: nothing on it helps between sessions or while you wait for a reply from a therapist.
veisund is a free app (iOS and Android) for peer support by post and reply. you post under a handle you choose — no real name, no phone number; an email address makes the account and is never shown to other members. other members reply when they read your post. it is not live chat, nobody is waiting on the other end, and the community is still small, so a reply can take a while. when something helps, you can mark the post resolved and credit the reply that did it. on the web there is an evidence library — plain-language summaries of studies with the source and an evidence grade — and a lookup of drug-company payments to your own doctor, built on federal Open Payments data. no subscription, no ads. what veisund is not: therapy, a crisis service, or a clinic. no licensed clinician provides care in the app, nothing is prescribed, and no insurance is billed. the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and Crisis Text Line are in the app.

Its terms require therapists to hold a license, and profiles show license numbers. The terms also say TherapyDen does not recommend or endorse any therapist and puts the job of evaluating information on you. Check the license with your state board.
TherapyDen doesn't bill anyone. You can filter by the insurance a therapist says they accept; confirm coverage with the therapist and your insurer.
