Online-Therapy.com is a CBT-based online therapy subscription: a therapist, messaging, worksheets, and on most plans a weekly live session. it's billed weekly and doesn't take insurance directly. veisund is not therapy. it's a free app where you post what's going on under a handle and people who've been through it reply. here's what Online-Therapy.com publishes, and how to tell which of the two you need.

Online-Therapy.com's FAQ says plans "start at just $48 per week," a rate that includes a 20% discount for the first month. the plan list shows Basic (messaging plus the therapy program, no live sessions) at $48 a week discounted from $60, Standard (one weekly live session) at $72 from $90, Premium (two weekly live sessions) at $96 from $120, and Couples at $96 from $120. sessions are 45 minutes by video, voice or messaging, alongside an 8-section CBT program with 25 worksheets. they don't accept insurance payments directly but provide itemized receipts for reimbursement. their therapists cannot prescribe medication. checked on 2026-09-29 against each company's own site.
one thing Online-Therapy.com does that many therapy services don't: you can use a nickname, which its FAQ says is "the only identifier your therapist will use to communicate with you." it still requires emergency contact information, stored for use only if your counselor has safety concerns. that's a reasonable design for therapy. veisund takes the idea further in a different context: other members only ever see a handle you pick, and we never ask for a real name, a phone number or an emergency contact.
if you want structured CBT with a trained therapist, with worksheets and someone reviewing your work, that's what Online-Therapy.com sells and veisund doesn't. if you want a weekly live session with the same person, or couples sessions, same answer. and if you're under 18, Online-Therapy.com accepts teenagers with consent from both parents; veisund is 18+ only.
veisund is free and it's peer support. you post under a handle and other members who've lived something similar reply when they read it. it isn't live chat, nobody is assigned to you, and the community is still small, so replies can take a while. posts can be marked resolved, crediting the reply that helped. the web library adds plain-language study summaries with an evidence grade, including what the research says about CBT itself. if you're in crisis, call or text 988, or text HOME to 741741.
