decisions, commitment, & reliability

I used to self-harm, but I stopped around 3 weeks ago. Yesterday I had a relapse and I find myself once again having the urge to hurt myself. My friends have no idea, but I want to tell my closest one. I don't know what to say. How do I go about telling her and should I, or is that just a bad idea? (Also sorry if I put the wrong tag I've never used this app before I dont really know what I'm doing)

Hey OP, have you told this friend in the past?

No worries on the tag! Seems to fit here as you are having Difficultly expressing yourself. It could be helpful to share that information with your friend, but, he/she probably isn’t a mental health professional. Is that right? Have you considered telling someone who might’ve more experienced dealing with self harm that may be more skilled at working with you and self harm?
