work, academics, & motivationresolved

Hi guys! This is my first post! I am struggling with trying to figure out if I should continue med school or follow a different path. I use to love learning and studying medicine however I can’t seem to enjoy it anymore as much as I did before. I passed the hardest years of school but still feel lost and unmotivated to continue. There’s alot on my mind. Can you share an experience on how you handled something like this or anything else. Thanks

Hum. So glad you reached out. Finish it, that’s for sure. It doesn’t mean you’ll be a doc forever there are many paths to go in medicine so maybe yours just isn’t conventional right now so it feels uncertain. You probably know that though. I used to run a small peer to peer support group for NAMI talking about mental health with young people. Some days I’d be burnt out not wanting to go but then something incredible would happen at the nights

Session that would invigorate my passion. Maybe you are just tired and burnt out. That’s ok. And if you quit you won’t give yourself the opportunity of those sparks of inspiration to occur. Keep going, talk to mentors, get outside of your box. Your path may be different than most for a reason. Follow where it takes you
