Sounds like life isn’t really fun to live right now huh? How come?
- the person who asked·
It's just more suffering, over and over again
- someone who replied, again·
What are some of the things contributing to your suffering? What bothers you or makes life hard to live?
- the person who asked·
Well, mostly I don't find any joy in living
- someone who replied, again·
Slow change over time or have you always felt this way? Did you ever have things that allowed you to feel joy?
- the person who asked·
I think I never really enjoyed things, but I did'nt use to think much about until maybe the last year
- someone who replied, again·
Anything in particular happen last year?
- the person who asked·
I started college but I don't think it has something to do with it
- someone who replied, again·
Could be. Could it be that maybe now you have had more time to think and feel something that’s always been there?
- the person who asked·
Yes, I think it makes sense
- someone who replied, again·
Ok. Are you working through any of those things with a professional? Might help. I’m happy to talk here but I find therapy to work well. Did for me at least. I’m mean it helped. I did a lot of other stuff too
- the person who asked·
No, and honestly I don't want to
- someone who replied, again·
How come?
- the person who asked·
I don't really think there's any way to make things better
- someone who replied, again·
Have you tried therapy?
- the person who asked·
Sort of, didn't work
- the person who asked·
I just can't wait to die
- someone who replied, again·
Tough to find a good therapist that you match with.
- someone who replied, again·
I’m hearing you say you are feeling hopeless.
- the person who asked·
I never tought about it that way, but I think you're right
- someone who replied, again·
Feeling like you want to die would be common if you had lost hope. But losing hope only means that you’ve exhausted what’s immediately around you. That doesn’t mean that there is no way out. It may just mean that you need some new skills or tactics to find a way.
- the person who asked·
So, what can I do?
- someone who replied, again·
Chatting here was a good start. I’m glad you shared. I’ll be on here if you ever need to get out of a dark mindset. Cannot promise I’ll respond immediately. But then I’d think about getting an expert in your corner or on your team. Said you were in college?
- the person who asked·
Yes
- someone who replied, again·
Do you have free counseling on site?
- the person who asked·
Yes, but it would be online and I live with my parents, I don't want them to hear me talking about this
- someone who replied, again·
Understandable. Could you go to a library or schedule it when they are not around? Think it might be worth a shot!
- the person who asked·
I can try, but it would be more a hope than a fact
- someone who replied, again·
For sure. Nothing is guaranteed, but it’s a step, progress. And sometimes that’s all that’s needed. Do you notice or feel a change in yourself after saying that?
- the person who asked·
No, not really I think deep inside I know I won't even try
- someone who replied, again·
Ok. Thanks for being honest with me about that.
- someone who replied, again·
What’s a good reason not to go to the website right now and schedule a consult?
- the person who asked·
Pretty much because my parents would hear everything I say
- someone who replied, again·
If you wanted to avoid that, I’m confident you could find a solution. I’m not talking about making a call right now. Just scheduling it. But I’m also hearing you say that they are a part of the problem. Accurate? How come?
- the person who asked·
They've played the role of victims so long I just stopped thinking about them as guilty but now that you mention it, I believe that they're a big part of the problem, not right now, but I think they're the main source
- someone who replied, again·
My parents were a big part in mine. That’s why I didn’t/couldn’t go to them. What do you mean by play the victim?
- the person who asked·
They always say I blame it all on them when I really don't it's like they know what they've done and feel guilty about it but won't admit it and for some reason, they think I blame them when they're really blaming themselves
- someone who replied, again·
I see. Tough to change them and I wouldn’t spend anymore time and energy on it. Focus on yourself. I’m curious, what do you mean by they know what they’ve done?
- the person who asked·
They know they're mostly guilty, they've caused almost every problem in my life but i don't even say it out loud because they get angry and make feel guilty because of saying so, but we all know the truth
- someone who replied, again·
Yeah. That’s pretty heavy. I don’t blame you for feeling as you do if you have to carry that. I’m asking you to act for yourself though, make an outreach. Get a professional involved to help you sort through this stuff.
- the person who asked·
I'll try Thank you so much
- someone who replied, again·
Don’t just try. Do it. 👊 you are welcome.
