Nobody wants to hire me. I am viscerally uncomfortable working the jobs that do. It's unwise to subjugate myself, right? It's just that I can't make anything work within my limitations. I shouldn't have gotten started so late. I didn't even know I needed to start and now everyone has a job. I'm confused and feeling incapable

Ugh. Working can be a drag sometimes! Especially if you feel incapable, I can tell you that this feeling of confusion or uncertainty can be overcome. The reality is many people just were not really coached or prepared for the actual working world. It doesn’t mean you never will, it may be more of an example of a skill that perhaps you just haven’t practiced or prepared for much. I promise it won’t stay this way as I can hear a sense of urgency

And willingness in your voice which will serve you long term. Is there any questions I might be able to answer? Do you feel adequately supported in your job search or in your current jobs?

Well, I'm out of my freshman year of college and back home, and wasn't aware jobs were things we do at this time, but it seems like everyone has a job. Due to mental health limitations, I find it extremely difficult to work cashier/food jobs which I know are what are hiring the most right now. I am trying to work in childcare centers but that's not what-

My college career is building towards. I'm not exactly in an area where I can score lab research internships, especially since I'm a freshman and summer camps are already ripped, roaring, ready to go and no longer hiring. Tutoring centers are lacking pandemic business, and daycares have their own ex-high-schoolers coming home from college. I just want a job I can succeed in without putting myself in an anxiety ridden situation.

Honestly, I didn’t work a meaningful job my freshman year summer so I think you have time to get your careen on track. This is a pretty inconsequential summer in the grand scheme of things if you can turn it into something next year. I still think you are ok overall and would focus on getting a job or volunteering in a capacity that works for you. The career stuff will come. Sometimes you gotta just start proving you are reliable and hard workin
