Hi, I feel really tired and it's like I don't know what to do, reality hits harder everyday, therapists aren't helping and I honestly don't know what to do

Reality hits harder every day. Can you please explain a bit more about that? Curious what’s weighing on you. And sometimes therapists don’t help. Could be a sign to make a change.

I just realize everyday how hard things actually are, how difficult it would be to accomplish my goals and how sad and lonely the future looks
- someone who replied, again·
Yeah. Some days I feel similarly in terms of how hard things actually are. It’s a lot especially when one has an appetite like mine! Would you mind sharing some of your goals? Also what makes you think the future will be sad and lonely?

I'd like to buy a farm, move out and live far away, maybe start a small family but of course, I need money, I don't know how long it will take me or if I'll ever be able to earn enough. The family plan is even harder. My life has always been lonely, huge family, almost none of them care about me and I don't care about them, I see no signs of that changing, I wouldn't even know what to do to change it if I could

I can see how that would feel lonely. Surrounded by people but nobody really seeing who you are. I also see how the solitary life could be attractive. Have you ever heard of wwoofing? Could be a low cost intermediary to realizing that dream
- the person who asked·
No, I haven't, what is that?
- someone who replied, again·
Can work on organic farms for free. Could give you a taste of that life and costs you nothing. They supply you room and board. Wwoofing.net. Just a thought if you want to explore the green thumb without committing to the buying land part. Otherwise, if you want to unpack the desire to reject society as an intellectual exercise, open to talking through that as well.

Well, the thing is I just want to go away from it all since I can't choose when I'll die
- someone who replied, again·
What is it about not being able to choose when you did that aggravates you? Does it feel unjust?
- the person who asked·
It does, I'm just so tired of it all but it feels like I have no other choice but to keep going
- someone who replied, again·
What specifically exhausts you about your life?
- the person who asked·
Everything, having to do things I hate, not being able to do things I like, not beign able to rest and properly sleep, not being able to relax, beign alone, etc...
- someone who replied, again·
What are some of the barriers to you forming a more enriching life with better habits and activities that you want to do?
- the person who asked·
Mostly it's the fact that I don't know how, I don't know what would make me happy or how to even do it, I don't know what to do with my future and I don't know how to talk to people. I just feel lost
- someone who replied, again·
Ok. That’s ok. That’s a natural feeling and fear for anyone at certain points in their life and it’s a healthy emotion because it tells you that you are indeed concerned about yourself and the direction you are headed. It shows that you want and you have desire to craft a fulfilling life. It’s an important sign that tells you you care. And that’s the first step to figuring it out. embrace it
- someone who replied, again·
And it takes courage to admit that so thank you for sharing. I’ve felt that way at a couple points in my life. Most strongly when I was 20 yrs old
- the person who asked·
I'm 20 rn
- someone who replied, again·
I feel you. I was thinking suicide was my way out and grateful I didn’t complete. This desire though is a healthy emotion that can be used for your benefit with the right support
- the person who asked·
I know I'm just not strong enough, but I think about it everyday, therapists aren't helping tbh
- someone who replied, again·
What makes you think you are not strong enough? I’d imagine it’s not a narrative that you as a human have as an inherent character flaw. I’d bet it’s a message that you picked up somewhere in life that maybe someone else has used as a defense mechanism or crutch that is now a recurring thought in your life. Does that sound familiar?
- the person who asked·
No, I mean, I'm not strong enough to kill myself
- someone who replied, again·
I thought you meant strong enough to go on.
- someone who replied, again·
Sorry.
- the person who asked·
It's ok, I don't think I have a choice, I have to go on but I don't really want to
- someone who replied, again·
I feel you. I didn’t want to go on then either and you should go on in the same way. A change needs to occur. This is an opportunity for a change in your life. Sounds like the therapists are not helping, so I could be time to try something new. Get a new therapist, try a different type, find a new mentor or outlet, read a new book. This could just be a sign for you to give up on the current approach but it doesn’t mean everything need be hopeless
- the person who asked·
I alredy changed therapists twice in the last 2 months, I know I need a change but I really don't know what to do, I'm not even sure of what I actually want, it would be easier if it all just ended
- someone who replied, again·
How long have you been asking yourself the question ‘what do I do’? How long has that been a big part of your mental space
- the person who asked·
Last 2 weeks mostly
- someone who replied, again·
Ok. Glad you are doing something about it so soon. Sounds like you are fairly empowered to make decisions based on your emotions and feelings. Is that true ?
- the person who asked·
Not really, I'm just stuck, I do what I have to and that's it, I don't know what else to do
- someone who replied, again·
Hum. It’s hard to feel like there is no way out. Makes everything seem like more of a challenge
- the person who asked·
Indeed
- someone who replied, again·
Is there anything important that you feel like you cannot or don’t have the opportunity to say to people in your life?
- the person who asked·
Maybe that I'm really tired and I don't want to keep going
- someone who replied, again·
Who if anyone would you like to say that to and what would you hope their reaction would be?
- the person who asked·
I'm just tired, I don't know, I don't understand. Sorry for wasting you time, thanks a lot
- someone who replied, again·
It’s not wasting my time. Just curious about what might be the levers you could pull to create some space or change in your life
- the person who asked·
None, at least not right now, it is what it is and I don't think it'll change soon
- someone who replied, again·
It may feel like that but it doesn’t have to. There are ways to break the log jam. Often times it starts by talking about it so you are doing the right things. You are working towards progress. You said you don’t know how to talk to people or what to do about your future. But the fact that you are asking the question is brilliant. Most people don’t ever think critically about themselves or their lives but you are! That’s a wonderful thing
- the person who asked·
I think so, thanks a lot for talking to me I really appreciate it
