I feel as though I can't get anything right, I've been single for years, and I can't get my traumatic past out of my every day life. I break down when I'm driving and I just can't afford therapy, plus my doctor doesn't understand how to help me.

Yeah. Docs sometimes are not as helpful as they could be. What’s your home life like? Do you feel like you have friends and family that are around who can provide support or do you feel pretty isolated?

My home life is ok, it's just that nobody helps or can understand, my friends laugh off my pain as a joke.

What is the sort of pain you are feeling? What sorts of things do you want them to understand or share with them?

I just want them to try to understand what it's like being almost held hostage by your own brain, not being able to sleep for hours because no matter how hard you try to relax, your mind keeps going. I have these semi constant moments where I freeze and my hands shake, my past becoming present and future, like over thinking into a new reality where everything bad that can happen, will happen.

Thanks for sharing. That seems like it could be a challenge and at times a terrifying experience. Sounds like you want them to understand. Why do you want them to understand your experience better? What would you hope that brings about between you?

I want them to understand not just my experiences but me better in general, so they don't think that I'm just going through a phase. I would hope that makes our connection stronger, and to help our relationship.

That seems like a reasonable desire and approach. Often the use of the word ‘phase’ is representative of a desire to protect themselves from taking responsibility of contributing in any sustained fashion to your suffering. It’s a way that they can write off your feelings as temporary and not something too much to worry about. It says very little about you and what is the truth of your experience but really is a reflection of their attempts at

I know, I'm just really tired emotionally and mentally.

Ok. That’s understandable. Especially if people around you don’t understand and you feel disconnected or isolated. I wasn’t able to tell my friends or family about my sad feelings for a while. Had to work through a lot. What is contributing to the tiredness mostly outside of this communication break down? Is there another part of your life or yourself that isn’t going a way you wish it would?

Well, I just feel alone. My ex has moved on a long time ago, but I can't sleep at night because I don't have someone here to comfort me, Im not attractive in the slightest, everytime I try to show a woman I'm interested in them they look disgusted. Then they ghost me or run away, like I'm a monster.

If you found a partner before it can happen again! Looks are not everything. There are people out there who can recognize and appreciate your gifts. And you can find them and it will take some putting of yourself out there. But you will find someone if you keep trying

I know that doesn’t stop the pain. It helps to reach out when you are feeling bad or alone so glad you did. You don’t have to think this is just your burden to bare. People are out there who care and will listen. We are social beings that need one another
