stress & emotional wellbeing

Hi I’m a new mom and I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed and unheard like I feel my husband doesn’t value me he expects me to attend him as I did before . Which I try my best and do but the baby takes up a lot of time . I feel a bit annoyed when the baby is in his care and the baby is crying and he just lets the baby cry . Also when he’s helping with the baby he just will say oh he doesn’t like me just because the baby won’t stop crying. I feel unseen

Yes. I can see how you’d feel unseen. Congratulations! I have 3 kids being a parent is awesome and incredibly challenging. Sounds like he’s using that excuse to not take on much parenting responsibility. And sounds like you are doing a lot. It’s hard being a parent. New parent especially because it so much time and energy That you didn’t used to have to do. Do you think he sees how hard you are trying?

Hi! I recently had a baby and even though she’s not my first, I can totally relate to how you’re feeling. I don’t think anyone can really know how it feels to be constantly needed by someone who can’t take care of themselves. We as moms don’t feel as separate from our babies as our husbands do, so it feels so intense and urgent when they cry. Have you had any conversations with him about feeling unseen?
