purpose & emotional clarity

My brother has these massive mood swings. They are Pretty noticable. Like in one moment he is happy and suddenly he is so low. Not just me but his college roommates and his gf too have noticed. When we ask him about it he just says,"nothing's wrong". My parents are so concerned and they ask me about it because I'm the elder one and I honestly don't know what to do. He is super intellectual and he doesn't talk much. I don't know what to do :/

Hey, that sounds really tough. Is there a way to chat with him a little, about his day to day? I imagine it would be hard, but maybe a recent situation is bugging him

Hum. Use I statement ‘I’ve noticed that you appear to get angry quicker than in the past, Do you want to talk about anything?’ But it’s not your responsibility to solve or fix it. Best thing you can do is be there for him, open the lines of communication and keep reiterating that they are open, and don’t force anything. At some point maybe a professional gets involved, maybe prep your parents for that

Do not judge him... Be there... Be helpful... One day he will tell you. Sometimes people don't know they have mood swings... It takes time
