I had an encounter with someone almost a year ago in my house , and I was drunk so I can’t even remember their exact face , and ever since , even though they never contacted me or tried to engage any contact , I feel stressed and in constant fear of seeing them in the street or them coming to my house . I think I might have saw them tonight and I’m scared they had recognized me and will try to engage anything against me . I feel like ass…

Where you just drinking at your house or perhaps did they bring you home while you were drunk from somewhere? If they walked in your house that would be a fear that's valid. Try setup a small camera by the front door or possible entry places. You could always move to a different address if the current one doesn't feel safe.

What is it about their face that makes you afraid? An unsettling feeling? Fear for your safety or feeling vulnerable? Maybe it’s a face of fear showing you how when you were drunk you were putting yourself at risk? Idk just throwing things out curious what you think

It’s just the fact that I feel vulnerable since someone that I don’t know and met once knows where I live . I told them I lived abroad and was just visiting so it gave me anxiety to possibly see them and for them to recognize me and think '’ oh they do live here actually '' and for them to act upon this . It might seem crazy or over the top but I just felt the need to talk about it

That does sound pretty sketch I setup a camera where your door is or car because that sounds like a classic stalker situation and if they stop by your house unannounced you have them on camera and can inform the police to patrol the area or drive by if they keep coming by if you fear for your safety.if they break in call the cops

Trust your gut it's usually right

They never came back ever since or did anything to be honest , it’s more about the anxiety and fear of them doing something but it’s been a year and I haven’t heard of them ever since

They never did anything honestly and it’s been a year , it’s more of anxiety and fear of them doing something ( even if they never did ) and I just don’t know if I have reason to be afraid or if I should just try to overcome it ! Again , they didn’t contact me or anything

They didn’t do anything to be honest and it’s been a year so I hope they are not gonna do anything in general , but it’s more anxiety of them doing anything , and I don’t know if I SHOULD feel scared and if it’s valid or it’s just anxiety , since they didn’t do anything ever since

Glad you shared. It’s ok to have fears and you don’t have to keep the inside. Take necessary precautions if it helps you sleep at night and recognize that this chance is probably really low. If you are really concerned for your safety I’d contact the police and just talk to them and ask about ways you can protect yourself and your house. Not saying you should tell them to go get him (unless he committed a crime against you)

But I once got a really uneasy feeling about a clerk at a gas station and the way that he looked at my children, and I called and talked to the police just to inquire if they had ever had any other reports about this particular individual. They hadn’t, but I felt a lot better after at least taking the steps to put it on record.
