I've had job for 2 months. I thought the job was going to be great. But I feel that I've been basically abandoned in training. Like, I've been going to a completely empty office to do very few tasks, and sometimes not know how to do them, because no one is around to show me. I ended up crying in frustration today because I do want to work. But I don't know what I'm doing and when I screw up I feel like a bad person? Am I just not trying enough?

You are not a bad person. It’s natural to feel bad if you don’t feel confident. Sounds like it’s just a bad training program and not that you are incompetent. Have you told your manager or coworkers about this?

I've told the office manager, J, and she's frustrated too because she's only been a this work place 7 months and she doesn't know how to help me and she's still teaching herself the job basically too.

Hum. Sounds like a poorly run organization where you are! Understandable though. Lots of orgs are under pressure now. Do you have standing meetings where you can ask questions? Or could you learn something from another mentor in the same industry?
