Hey sorry for the delay. What’s going on?
- the person who asked·
I feel like I have a lot inside, also, I feel a bigger anxiety compared to previous week, I don't know what I want to say but I feel like there are things I need to say
- someone who replied, again·
Try me! No strings attached. If I were the person you needed to say something to, what would you say? Think of it like practice
- the person who asked·
It's just a lot, I'm tired and angry, and I feel really anxious but I don't know why
- someone who replied, again·
What are you angry about?
- someone who replied, again·
Or what makes you feel angry?
- the person who asked·
I have to do a lot of things I don't like, I don't like any of the things I do rn and I don't get to do anything I like
- someone who replied, again·
Can you share a few examples of some of the things you have to do you dont like and some of the things you would like to do but cannot?
- the person who asked·
College, I'm pursuing a major I don't really like, also, I'm part of a program I also hate but I'm so deep into it that leaving now would mean wasting all my past effort. I would love to leave it all behing and become a cowboy/farmer and only work my land to get food, that's it, at some point I would like to start a family but I'm not sure if I'll ever get to do any of that stuff, it seems like I won't indeed

I can see how that would feel concerning. College is hard and choices can feel monumental. But Lifes paths often are not as straight forward as we may think. What are you studying and how many yrs do you have left?
- the person who asked·
Engineering, I have a bit over 1.5 years left
- someone who replied, again·
Ok. Well the degree is just a part of it. More importantly you are developing skills and behaviors that you’ll deploy in your next arena. Wherever that may be. You can always change directions, and you won’t know if you like or don’t like something until you try. A degree is a badge of honor, it’s a bar that’s set that opens doors. It’s not everything. But because you don’t like the studies doesn’t mean you won’t find fulfilling ways to apply

Your learnings
- the person who asked·
I guess, I hope it gets better in the future but most people here are cocky and I don't like that, I also have a lot, school is just a side effect, not the main cause, I'm not happy I don't like a thing I do it seems like I'll never get to do something I like
- someone who replied, again·
Ok. That is a really insightful statement and helps me understand more about you. Thank you for sharing. Would you say that there once was a time (post puberty) you can point to where you did feel Inspired or excited to live? Or is it more like perhaps now you’ve become more aware of your dissatisfaction and it’s become obvious and/or too burdensome?
- the person who asked·
Yeah, I think it's more obvious now because back then I didn't use to do things because I liked them, I just thought I had to do it and some day I would be rich or something (I was pretty much a kid) but now I don't care about that, it's stupid, I just want a family of my own but it seems like I won't even be able to get that, honestly, it's been a year since I decided I don't want to live anymore but since that thought came to my mind I knew
- the person who asked·
I was a coward and I could never take my own life, so I'm just here, living and being miserable, some days it's not as bad but sometimes I suddenly feel it again, like the last few days...
- someone who replied, again·
Sorry to hear that. Are you working with any professionals to unpack some of this stuff? Working with a therapist helped me when I feel like I was in a similar spot. Not to say you cannot get out of it on your own by other means, but honestly that’s a much harder and sometimes impossible route for some ppl
- the person who asked·
No, I'm not, I still live with my parents so they would know about a therapist, and they don't really respect my feelings
- someone who replied, again·
Hum. I’d encourage you to try, especially if your school offers any services in person or zoom. It could be a way to get unstuck because when I hear you say you’ve not wanted to live for a while, I’d like to help you change that because I know what that’s like and I don’t want others to have to go thru it either
- the person who asked·
My school offers zoom sessions with counselors but my parents are home all day and the would hear talk to them
- someone who replied, again·
I’m sure you could find a million reasons not to do it. I’m asking you though if it’s time to look for ways to make it happen. Its your life, you have to make the decisions that are ultimately going to be decisions that are in support of you living your dreams and avoid making decisions out of fear of consequence
- the person who asked·
I think you're right, thank you
