relationships & contentment

I drop a big bombshell on my partner last night (that I haven’t been going to college) Not once did he raise his voice or seem furiously mad either. At the end he asked if we could speak in the morning. Morning came and I had no call so I called around 10:30am. No answer, just a text saying he’ll call later. I’ve heard nothing from him all day so I called at 5:30pm, no answer. The fact that I hurt them is eating me more than the secret ever was.

Im sorry! That sounds hard and its no fun to be left hanging like that. Sounds like you are aware that the decisiom to keep that from him hurt him so thats good to know that you have empathy and have acknowledged it. Now this next phase will be interesting to see of you can come together and work through it.

That must be challenging! I'm on the phone right now but would love to text and chat later.

I’m doing better, he decided he needed some time before we got back to together. Because he doesn’t know what else I lied about which I understand I would be thinking a lot of things too. I do miss them a lot though, I find that if I’m not busy I will cry. But in the end I will not beg them to take me back or guilt them because that is not fair to them. If we get back together it will be on their terms

It’s okay and healthy to cry. Especially when something like this happens, when we experience some loss. It’s good that you came clean— that can be a very hard thing to do. And to face the consequences with dignity can be even harder. I hope you can find peace as time progresses whether or not you end up with this person again. If not, you can carry this lesson to make yourself a better partner in the future.
