relationships & contentment

someone in my class hosted a party and invited all of my friends except me. even people who didn't go to the party knew about it. when i FOUND OUT about it by pestering my 'best friend' until she called me out for being rude about it (i lowkey was, but because she was HIDING it from me), i didn't think much for a second. it's been months and it's eating at me that she hid this and i wasn't invited. idek the host but i was sad i wasnt invited.

Yes. That’s disappointing. I feel for you, it’s no fun feeling excluded. I’m glad you talked to your friend about it. That takes guts.

Is this something you think you can let go and forgive or is there something unresolved still you wish your friend or classmates would know?

i'm sad that she was SO secretive about it, im sad that im still thinking about it to this day (this was in november). and btw she wasn't willing to tell me who the host was (that's why i pestered her) so i kept telling her "u can tell me! i literally won't care who it is" and then she told me (after a while) and i didn't care for ONE SECOND before i started thinking about it all the time. i hate that i proved her right and actually care about it

It’s ok to care about it. You felt left out and it’s a natural response to what happened to you. What do you wish those who didn’t invite you to this party knew about you? Sounds like you wanted to go and I’m assuming there is something about you that you’d like to share so curious what maybe they might think of you and what you want them to know about you

i just want them to like me. i would've cancelled on them cuz my friend of 12yrs was hosting a halloween bday party on the same day, so i was obv gonna go to that. im never mean, i try not to talk too much, i always compliment & help, so idk why i wasn't invited. my same friend has been distant for over a year.. she doesn't text, doesn't ask to hang out, im always the one putting in the effort. i just wanna graduate so i can get away from this.

Maybe someone knew you already had plans and that spread around that group so they didn’t invite you. Could be nothing to do with you at all too! Yeah. Friends change. Sometimes as we grow we grow apart if friendships. And that’s usually a good thing. Both parties are looking for something else and need to have that space to do it. Cool! Graduating this spring? What’s next? Yes you’ll be able to find new friends in the next chapter as well

nobody knew i was going to this party. the only person who knew was my friend who hid the other party from me & then last sec, she was like "wait we're not going to the same party? oh, then u prbly weren't invited, i can't say who". mid-argument, she said "there's also another aspect to this whole thing but i can't tell you" and it's knowing at me to know. i want to know so bad. i need the closure. i don't wanna drift before getting closure.

Yeah what your friend said is a shitty thing to say to someone. Like how are you expected to not want to desperately know? Thats a natural response. So frustrating.
