relationships & contentment

My wife has been struggling with depression and anxiety for most of her life. She sees a therapist, but I feel like I’m at a loss for words when she is feeling depressed. I was wondering if anyone has any good resources or recommendations that will help me support her. I feel like I’m always saying, “I hear you. I love you.” I feel like a broken record....

Sometimes those are the best words! Sometimes just knowing that there is someone there for you is enough. You cannot do her work for her, despite your best intentions. You have to live strong and be your best and not try and shoulder the burden for her. It’s clear you are empathetic and love her simply by saying that. In most cases, I’d say that’s enough! What more could anyone really ask for?

I appreciate your response. I think I need some validation whether I’m supporting correctly or not. Are there any resources or websites that you have used in the past for supporting others? I want to read more!

NAMI is a good resource. I live in Minnesota so NAMImn.org was helpful. But any good resource where you can continue to make sure you are living your most fulfilling life is gonna be best if you climb, go rock climbing, if you fish, go fishing, pottery, whatever it is for you. Keep living your best and strongest so that you can continue being that rock for her
