Ok so assistance please, husband wants me to play mmo games to have something to share with him and connect, but I'm not a online gamer, I love board games with real connection and real talk instead of being on a monitor. How do I deal with that?

Compromise? Play his game one night and yours the next? How would that be received?

I wish it were like that. He is someone who wants to play it consistently to rank up or speed to finish line. No looking around the game and I just don't have the time for it with kids and I genuinely don't feel invested in it. When I do ask to play on PS5 with him when no kids are awake, he like just didn't think you actually wanted to play and then we don't play. Honestly rather watch my show, sleep or catch up on a missed shower.

Also he thinks our 4yr old would be able to play RuneScape and I just don't see that. I feel like it leaves room for getting on to them for doing the wrong thing. It's like setting himself up for losing his patience because it's not an age appropriate game. He has a friend to play with him now but he tends to be invested in that then family life

I honestly don't like having to say someone's name and them not respond til it gets irritating to them when they could of just responded the first time. After kids I just don't feel the same way, he got a view on what he likes as a wife, sexy outfit and games with him and it's not me Ive been finding who I am after kids and I prefer old fashion modest clothes to comfy and exploring outdoors. Sounds like you’ve tried everything and have already talked to him about it. Now you’ve got a choice, do you let it go or do you dig in harder? Doesn’t seem like he’s open to change. And excessive video game usage in kids will absolutely stunt their creativity. All things in moderation of course. But is there anything else you can do to make your point? Take the kids to grandparents for a while, something else?

Wish I had family that could watch kids . It's just us right now

When my wife really wants to get my attention she gives me back the wedding ring lol. I don’t like that but it gets me attention

As much as that is effective and I have tried that before it questions the belief you had in them and they don't feel as strong as they did before. But maybe it's supposed to because sometimes people need that wake up call. You can only do it so many times before choosing happiness becomes more important than a marriage.

Ugh. That’s a challenge. What does your heart say? Is this something you can work with or are you needing something more drastic to change? Relationships have to evolve as people grow. It’s not easy. Do you feel he’s at least willing to grow with you in this relationship?

Sometimes the commitment is there and then it goes away for awhile. Sometimes he wants to change but it's only if he knows he's about lose something and I'm tired of using that as a leverage.

Have you said this to him exactly?if so how did he respond?
- the person who asked·
Idk how would you respond if someone said that to you? Not exactly the best conversation, and nor will I feel like it will get me anywhere . Your poking at a wound at that point.

Yes, but if you can’t be honest, what’s the point in conversation at all? I get that you can’t have difficult conversations only. You have to have fun conversations and difficult conversation conversations so maybe that could be your focus? How to have fun conversations more often which then could give way to have that more serious conversation? Make it a point to turn his grumpiness around so that maybe there will be a light you can work with?
