relationships & contentment

I feel confused with my responsiblilty in my relationship. I get engaged a month ago and weve been trying to set a wedding date and it changes from winter to summer to “i just want to let you knowbthat i want to marry you and i will” and she wants to move out of her hone before getting married, but i dont understand when wed even get married and in the meantime she needs my emotional support very badly but i dont get where my relationship is now

Hum. Sounds like she isn’t ready to set a date. Sometimes, dates can be restricted by venue so may help to check a few out and their availability unless you have a place you know you can use whenever. Transitions are hard. Your relationship will continue to evolve through these things. But I have to ask...are you getting the sense she is having second thoughts?

I dont sense shes having second thoughts but i so know that her parents rule her life, she just told me she isnt going to apy to a college she wants to bc it would make her mom upset, even tho its perfect for her and for us when were married. Last week her dad said we should wait 4 years to get married so were financially stable too. Her mom has serious problems and its affecting her

Ok. Yes, parents are not ever going anywhere unfortunately. How come this college would be perfect for her and you and how come her mom doesn’t want her to go there? Has she said those words about it being perfect for her or is that your interpretation?

Yes my fiance said its one of the colleges she wants to go to, her mom isnt letting her apply because its too far away from her family, but i dont know which reason she says that because well be married and having our own family. I know she constantly asks for help to watch her son and shes mostly on the couch on the phone while my fiancé takes care of him and doesnt have time to do her responsiblilities

Hum. Sounds like she’s trying not to lose her help around the house with her son. Sounds like your fiancé carries some of the responsibility at the expense of her own priorities. Tough place to be in and witness. The school seems to be good for you two and bad for her mom. If you could remove yourself and her mom from the situation. What do you genuinely think would be best for her based on her interests?

Shes done her own research with colleges and its one of her own top picks because its good for her major and shes told me that, im not making her go there because its good for us i want her to be able to go there because its good for her first
